Historic Moku'aikaua Church is across the street.

The reconstructed Ahu'ena Heiau, site of the Capital of Hawai'i from 1812 -1819, is located near the Kailua Pier.

On O'ahu

If your travels take you to O'ahu, may be suggest a visit to our sister Palace Hanaiakamalama (Queen Emma Summer Palace), located in Nu'uanu Valley, just a few minutes above Honolulu.

Visit Hulihe'e Palace

Hulihe'e Palace is located on Ali'i Drive in the historic village of Kailua-Kona on the Island of Hawaii. (See larger map.)

If you are arriving by ship, the Palace is located a brief 10 minute stroll along the seawall from the Kailua Pier.

Museum Hours

Open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Open Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
(Plan on arriving by 3:30 p.m. to allow time to tour the Palace)

Closed major holidays including New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Tours

Guided tours are given frequently throughout the day and self guided tour brochures are available in English, Japanese, Danish, and German.

Admission Fees

There is a modest admission fee to the Palace. Admission to the Palace grounds, the giftshop and many of our concerts is free.
